Currency : THB (Thai Baht). Roughly, 1 Baht = 2 Rupees
Visa : On Arrival. Fees – 1000 THB per person & you should carry at least 10000 THB per person for expenses.
Day 0 ( Bangalore)
Flight to Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok) from Kempegowda International Airport (Bangalore). Flight is at 1am IST. It reaches Bangkok by 6.15am (TST). It is a Thai Airways flight. Flight time is very comfortable. You can have dinner at home and start at 9pm.
Transfer to Pattaya and Alcazar Show.
We reached Suvarnabhumi airport on time. Visa on arrival takes around 2 hours. Most of the passengers in your flight are tourists just like you. All will be taking Visa on Arrival. So, it generally takes around 2 hours. There is a special line for quick visa. But, it costs 1200 THB per person, 200 THB more than normal visa. If you are in a hurry, you can opt for quick visa. If you opt for quick visa, whole visa on arrival process may be completed in half an hour. From the airport, we are transferred to our hotel in Pattaya. We stayed at Golden Beach Hotel. It is a budget hotel and not a luxury hotel. Very old one too. But location is a centre place of city and close to beach and also opposite of Central Festival Shopping Mall. There is a south indian restaurant named Madras Darbar at the entrance of the hotel. We had lunch at Indian chimney restaurant opposite to Alcazar show which is 1.6 km away from Golden Beach and 10 THB by share auto.
Day 2 (Pattaya)
Visit to Coral Island & Mini Siam
Coral Island is not a great island. Don’t expect much. But the trip is awesome. It has parasailing, under sea walk, sea skating, banana ride and sea scooter ride. Costly though. Sea walk costs 1200 baht per person. Parasailing costs 400 baht per person. Banana ride 200 baht per person and sea skating and sea scooter ride cost 300 baht per person. After all rides you can relax on coral island under umbrellas and relax chairs. You can also do shopping. We can get bags, hats, T-shirts and eateries. Coral island visit is half a day. It completes around 2pm including the lunch. Afternoon we visited Mini Siam, a miniature world. It has miniature replicas of eiffel tower, london bridge, opera house, statue of liberty, bangkok old airport, bangkok railway station, leaning tower of pisa, christ redeemer brazil etc. its a good place for family, but you should have lot of patience to walk about and know about each of the replicas. You will be enjoying only if you know a bit about replicas before hand. There is one full area with all mini replicas of famous places of thailand. Though all are nice to see, since you don’t know the places, you cannot relate much. Umbrellas are there at the start of the park for free of cost to beat the heat. The local transport auto took 100 bahts each for pick up and drop. The ticket cost for entry to Mini Siam is 300 baht per person.
Day 3 (Bangkok)
Transfer to Bangkok and visit to Golden Buddha temple.
Transfer from pattaya to bangkok. About 1 and half hour. Sukhumvit highway travel. We stayed at Royal Benja Hotel. It is very good. It is located very centre of the city and also very close by to the Nana Skywalk Station. Afternoon gems gallery visit and golden buddha temple visit. The temple is called as Wat Traimit. Wat means temple in Thai language. Golden buddha is heaviest gold statue in the world. It weighs around 5 tons of solid gold. Gems gallery is good to visit but jewellery is very costly. Then we went to intra market for shopping. If by chance you know about hyderabad, this market is similar to Sultan Bazaar. We bought bags and belt. We also bought china watches which costed around 100 baht per watch. All items are cheap items. Clothing bags shoes night wear etc. We also went for thai massage. It gave a lot of relaxation. Then we took tuk tuk to hotel. Massage parlours are prevalent everywhere in Bangkok and Pattaya. Starting from 200 baht for foot massage, there are different types of massages till 500 baht. A session is generally for an hour. Getting a massage is one of the must do things, if you are visiting Thailand.
Day 4 (Bangkok)
Visit to Safari world and Marine Park. Both are at same place and are about half an hour to forty five minutes drive from city centre. Safari world has lot of animals. Its like a zoo. But, you have around half a dozen shows. Name of the shows are Orangutan Show, by monkeys. Other shows are western cowboys show, sea lion show, dolphin show and spy war show. Dolphin show and sea lion show should not be missed. You will have very less time to look animals if you keep going to shows one after the other. But, you can see animals in many zoos. Shows are good and should not be missed. After the safari park visit is over, we will be taken in a vehicle into the open zoo. Where you can see many many animals closely. Zebra, Giraffe, hippopotamus, tiger, deer and many more. If weather is sunny, you will be very tired at the end of all this. Carry hand fans and hats to beat the heat. Almost all of them have lunch at Jungle Cruise Restaurant. Below is the map of Safari world. You can have a close look to find the location of each show. Day 5 (Bangkok)
Visit to Madame Tussauds Museum and Ocean World.
Sky train from NANA station to National Stadium station. Metro train in Bangkok is called as Sky Train. Visited malls MBK mall, Siam Discovery, Siam Center and Siam Paragon. Visited Ocean World where different fishes are put in aquarium. Also visited Madame Tussauds museum of wax statues. Both together costed 1475 bahts per person. Each requires a time of about 1.5 hours each, but we were in a hurry and visited both together in about 2 hours. Madame Tussauds is on the 6th floor of Siam Discovery Mall and Ocean world is in the basement of Siam Paragon mall. All the three malls are adjacent to each other and are connected directly. They are also connected to two sky train stations. One is SIAM station and the other is National Stadium station. The three malls Siam Discovery, Siam Centre and Siam Paragon have lot of eateries. You can try thai food here. A lot of shopping also can be done in these malls. You can clearly spend a complete day here at these malls even after completing the visits of Ocean World and Madame Tussauds museum. Except for Mahatma Gandhi, there is no other wax statue of indian figures.
Day 6 (Bangalore)
The return flight to Bangalore is at 9.30pm (TST). You will reach Bangalore by 11.55pm (IST). Travel time is around 3.5 hours.
